This slender, fullerless, diamond-section blade in hardened 9260 spring steel is quick in the hand and drives confident thrusts while retaining clean cutting authority—often regarded as one of the most popular late-medieval fighting profiles across Europe and a favorite template for modern sword training.
The hardware matches the blade: down-curved, flared quillons and a sculpted four-lobed “crown” pommel, both in hardened stainless steel. A waisted hardwood grip wrapped in black cowhide with neat hand cross-stitching completes the hilt.

The wood-cored scabbard is wrapped in black leather with a rain-guard at the throat and a metal chape. A two-point suspension (double-buckle hanger) uses dark bridle-leather belt bridges and billets, paired with lighter chestnut / saddle-tan straps and gold-plated buckles for a warm, premium contrast.

Faithful in spirit to period lines, tuned by ShadowDancer for balance, durability, and everyday usability.

The European Sword Breaker – Degenbrecher Sword https://swordis.com/product/european-sword-breaker-degenbrecher-blade/ Fri, 18 Jul 2025 09:24:29 +0000 https://swordis.com/product/product-214/ The Degenbrecher, or “Sword Destroyer,” was a real and unique weapon used in medieval and Renaissance Europe. Originally wielded in the off-hand for parrying, or even as a primary weapon these stiff blades were designed to trap, disarm, or damage an opponent’s sword using ribbed notches along one edge. A raised rib runs through the center to enhance durability, and the tip is tapered and pointed for slashing or thrusting applications.

The handle is crafted from rosewood, wrapped in leather for a comfortable grip, and finished with a rounded pommel. The crossguard tapers subtly toward the blade, reflecting traditional forms. A fitted leather sheath is included for protection and carrying.

Dragonfly Folded Steel Katana https://swordis.com/product/dragonfly-folded-steel-katana/ Thu, 26 Jun 2025 11:45:29 +0000 https://swordis.com/?post_type=product&p=109078 The Dragonfly Katana is inspired by the meaning behind the dragonfly in samurai culture. Dragonflies symbolized tireless movement and loyalty—qualities every samurai aimed to live by. This sword reflects that same spirit with a fast, lightweight design made for real use.

The blade is hand-forged and folded using a mix of T10 tool steel and 1055 carbon steel. This combo gives it both strength and flexibility. Folding the steel creates a bold grain pattern (hada) across the blade, and the clay tempering adds a real O-Choji hamon that hardens the edge for cutting.

The fittings are designed to look like aged iron. The tsuba is made of iron with a copper-inlaid dragonfly that really stands out.

The handle is wrapped in dark brown silk ito over black rayskin, using the traditional hineri-maki style for grip. It also has a slight curve in the middle (called ryugo), which feels great in the hands and is popular among sword users.

It comes with a lacquered wooden scabbard that gives off a clean, shiny finish.
